About the Role
MonoIT is seeking an experienced IT Support Engineer (Level 1–2) to join our growing team on a part-time basis. This role is fully work-from-home, offering flexible remote scheduling for day-to-day operations, paired with occasional on-site visits to client locations across Melbourne when physical technical support is required.
In this role, you will be a critical part of our Help Desk &
- IT Support operations—providing remote technical assistance to clients, managing core identity and directory services, and heading out to client sites whenever hands-on intervention is needed.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Remote User &
- Helpdesk Support:
Provide Level 1 and Level 2 remote troubleshooting via phone, email, remote support software, and ticketing systems for Windows environments and business applications.
- Active Directory Management: Create, update, and manage Active Directory user accounts, group memberships, OU structures, and access permissions.
- Drive Mapping &
- Resource Access:
Configure, deploy, and troubleshoot mapped network drives and shared folder permissions remotely.
- Printer Configuration: Set up, deploy, and troubleshoot network printers, print servers, print queues, and client-side drivers.
- On-Site Client Visits: Travel to client sites across Melbourne when required using your own vehicle to perform physical troubleshooting, deployments, and direct hands-on support.
- Documentation &
- Records:
Document all support tickets, solutions, and infrastructure changes in our ticketing system to maintain accurate knowledge bases.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: 3+ years of demonstrated hands-on experience in a Help Desk, IT Support,
or Field Engineer role.
- Work Setup &
- Location:
Based in Melbourne with an adequate, secure work-from-home environment.
- Licence &
- Vehicle (Mandatory):
Valid Australian driver’s licence and a reliable vehicle in good working condition for occasional on-site client visits.
- Directory Services: Strong proficiency in Active Directory user lifecycle management, group policies, and permission structures.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced troubleshooting skills within Windows OS environments, printer deployment, network drive mapping, and basic TCP/IP networking concepts.
- Communication &
- Customer Service:
Excellent remote communication skills, self-motivation, and a professional customer-first mindset.
- Certifications (Nice to Have): Relevant qualifications such as CompTIA A+/Network+, Microsoft Certified Associate, or equivalent industry certifications.
