Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated Junior Engineer - Mining Equipment to join our engineering team and support the development, integration and continuous improvement of our mining equipment products. This role requires a sound technical foundation in mobile mining equipment, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for innovation and decarbonization. You will work alongside experienced engineers to support the design, validation, testing and continuous improvement of mining equipment to ensure safe, reliable and productive operation in mining environments.

You will be working for one of the leading Mining and Construction equipment producers, which has one of the largest battery electric model line-ups in the world.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Work collaboratively within the engineering team and support engineering teams in Australia and China in the development, integration and continuous improvement of mining equipment systems (mechanical, electrical and hydraulic)




- Assist with technical support activities including maintenance, diagnostics, and failure analysis of heavy mining trucks, shovels and other mobile equipment.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and OEMs to enhance equipment availability and productivity.
- Support the development and implementation of engineering solutions for safety, compliance, and efficiency improvements.
- Participate in root cause analysis and provide recommendations for equipment performance and life-cycle optimization.
- Support engineering projects from concept through execution, including planning, scheduling and delivery of engineering activities.
- Prepare and review engineering documentation including drawings, reports, procedures, specifications and risk assessments.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and safety excellence.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of engineering experience in mining, mobile equipment or heavy equipment industries.
- Exposure to mobile mining equipment including haul trucks, wheel loaders, bulldozers, excavators or ancillary equipment.
- Solid analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with Australian Standards, mining safety requirements and equipment regulations is desirable

4) Certificates Required

- Valid Driver’s License.

5) Additional Information:

- The role will require travel to China and may see you away for 2-3 weeks at a time.
- You will also be required to travel to remote mine sites, and you may be away from home for up to 2 weeks at a time.
