Kitchen Hand 2IC – Central Kitchen

About the Role
As a kitchen hand, you will assist the Kitchen Manager in overseeing the daily operations of our Central Kitchen, ensuring high-quality food production and compliance with food safety standards. This role requires strong leadership, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to effectively manage time and resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing the Central Kitchen’s daily operations, including staff supervision and workflow coordination.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and HACCP standards at all times.
- Monitor production schedules to meet deadlines and maintain quality.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive and efficient work environment.
- Manage stock levels, inventory, and equipment maintenance.
- Take charge during the absence of the Kitchen Manager, ensuring smooth operations.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience:
Proven experience in a commercial kitchen, preferably in a leadership role but not a deal breaker.
- Availability: Flexibility to work weekends and night shifts is essential.
- Skills:
- Strong communication skills to liaise with team members and management effectively.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to meet production goals.
- Proficiency in food safety standards and HACCP compliance.
- Leadership: A proactive and supportive leader who can motivate the team.
