Part-time, 2-3 days/week, Must be located in Sydney

Eat Drink Play is Sydney's food and lifestyle platform, recently relaunched after 17 years with a brand-new website and content structure. We're looking for an Editor & Content Manager to own our content and social presence day-to-day.

About the role:

You'll manage the full content engine for EDP, from newsletter and Guides content through to What's On listings and venue features, while also driving our social media strategy and output. You'll be supported by a content coordinator who handles execution on listings, contributor outreach, and social scheduling, so this role is about direction, editorial judgement, and quality control as much as it is hands-on writing and content creation. This is a role for someone who can move fast without cutting corners, and bring genuine creative flair to how we tell Sydney's dining and lifestyle stories.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage the newsletter inbox and curate content for Wednesday and Friday editions
- Decide what features in What's On listings (executed by our content coordinator)
- Write and edit current venue listings and Guides content
- Ensure all content follows our new site's format, SEO, and tagging standards




- Own social media strategy and direction -briefing and approving content drafted (Canva) and scheduled (Sked Social) by the coordinator
- Covering new openings and events and creating engaging social content that increases our engagement

Essential skills:

- Speed - You’re able to turn around content and decisions across multiple channels on tight, recurring deadlines
- Accuracy - You have meticulous attention to detail across copy, listings, and scheduling
- Creativity - You have sharp instincts for what makes content (especially social) land

About you:

- Strong background in social media content and strategy
- Excellent writer and editor with a feel for Sydney's food, drink, and lifestyle scene
- Comfortable directing a small team and managing multiple content streams independently
- Familiarity with Canva and Sked Social

We have a team of freelance contributors who help cover openings and events, but we're looking for someone who's genuinely out and about themselves -trying new bars, restaurants, hotels, day spas, fitness classes, whatever's new and cool in Sydney.

Details:

- 3 days/week, ongoing (potential for 5 days as we expand)
- Sydney-based (hybrid mix of WHF and in the office)
