An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Grid Connection skilled to join a growing renewable energy business with a strong pipeline of utility-scale renewable generation and energy storage projects across Australia.
This role will play a critical part in supporting projects throughout development and delivery, leading grid connection strategy, managing external consultants, and acting as the key interface with AEMO and Network Service Providers.
About the Role
Reporting to the senior leader, you will take ownership of grid connection activities across a portfolio of utility-scale renewable energy and BESS projects.
The role combines technical expertise, stakeholder management and commercial awareness, supporting projects from early-stage feasibility through to successful grid connection and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead grid connection activities for utility-scale renewable energy and BESS projects.
- Manage and review grid connection studies, technical documentation and consultant deliverables.
- Act as the primary interface with AEMO, Network Service Providers and other key stakeholders.
- Support Grid Performance Standard (GPS) processes and connection application submissions.
- Assess network capacity and connection feasibility for new project opportunities.
- Coordinate external consultants undertaking power system studies and modelling activities.
- Support development teams with feasibility assessments, due diligence and technical evaluations.
- Provide grid connection guidance during EPC delivery,
generator registration and commissioning activities.
- Review technical solutions and equipment integration, including inverter-based resources and control systems.
- Support project teams throughout the project lifecycle from development through to operation.
About You
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering.
- 6+ years' experience within grid connection, power systems or renewable energy projects.
- Strong understanding of the Australian National Electricity Market (NEM).
- Experience engaging with AEMO, NSPs and key industry stakeholders.
- Knowledge of Grid Performance Standards (GPS) and National Electricity Rules.
- Experience supporting utility-scale renewable energy and/or Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.
- Exposure to PSSE and/or PowerFactory modelling.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Comfortable working independently while coordinating multiple internal and external parties.

- Renewable energy developer experience.
- Power systems consultancy background.
- EPC experience across renewable energy projects.
- Knowledge of FACTS devices, inverter-based resources and SCADA systems.
