Aertex Group Pty Ltd is an Australian-owned company based in the Northern Territory, providing traffic management, civil construction, linemarking and roadside infrastructure services across urban, regional and remote locations. Due to continued business growth and ongoing project commitments, we are seeking experienced Road Traffic Controller to join our team in Alice Springs.

About the Role

The Road Traffic Controller is responsible for implementing approved Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGS) and controlling vehicle and pedestrian movements at roadworks, infrastructure, maintenance and traffic management sites. This role is essential to maintaining public safety, protecting workers and ensuring compliance with relevant traffic management legislation, standards and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

- Set up, maintain and remove traffic control signs, devices and equipment in accordance with approved Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGS), permit requirements and company procedures.
- Control vehicle and pedestrian traffic using stop/slow bats, hand signals and two-way radio communications.
- Monitor traffic flow and adjust traffic control measures as required to maintain safety and efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with traffic controllers, supervisors, clients and relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure the safety of workers, road users and pedestrians at all times.
- Conduct regular inspections of traffic control devices, signage and work zones.
- Identify, report and respond to hazards, incidents and near misses.
- Establish,



maintain and dismantle temporary traffic management sites safely and efficiently.
- Complete required documentation, reports and records associated with traffic management activities.
- Follow Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGS) and company safety procedures.
- Participate in pre-start meetings, toolbox talks and safety briefings.

- Previous experience in traffic control operations.
- Current Construction White Card.
- Current Traffic Control Licence / Traffic Management Accreditation.
- Current Australian Driver Licence.
- Ability to work safely in live traffic environments.
- Strong understanding of traffic management procedures and safety requirements.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong situational awareness and hazard identification skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying environmental conditions.

- First Aid Certificate.
- HR Driver Licence.
- Experience working in regional or remote environments.
- Flexibility to work early starts, night works and weekends when required.
