General Manager – The Heights, Aged Care

We are seeking an accomplished and inspiring General Manager to lead The Heights, our Aged Care residence in Donvale.

Nestled in the leafy eastern Melbourne suburb of Donvale, our aged care residence – ‘The Heights’ – is a stylish and refined residential aged care home. Conveniently situated near shops and public transport,

This 84-bed home offers a comprehensive array of senior care services, catering to the diverse needs of older people seeking quality nursing home and aged care options. The Heights a unique place to live, including a community medical centre, allied health services including a gym, physiotherapy, dietetics and podiatry, a resident’s sports bar and café, and virtual reality cinema.

About the Role

As the General Manager, you will be responsible for the overall performance, leadership, and strategic direction of The Heights.

This is a highly visible leadership position that requires a balance of operational excellence, clinical governance, commercial acumen, and people leadership. You will champion resident-centred care while driving quality outcomes, employee engagement, regulatory compliance, and financial performance.

The successful candidate will be a confident and authentic leader who inspires teams, builds strong stakeholder relationships, and fosters a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide strategic and operational leadership across all aspects of the residence




- Drive exceptional resident outcomes through the delivery of TLC’s Model of Care
- Lead and support multidisciplinary teams to build a high-performing and engaged workforce
- Ensure compliance with the Aged Care Quality Standards and all regulatory requirements
- Oversee clinical governance, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Manage occupancy, admissions, customer experience, and community engagement activities
- Optimise financial performance, workforce planning, and operational efficiency
- Develop strong relationships with residents, families, employees, health professionals, and external stakeholders
- Champion workplace health, safety, and wellbeing across the home
- Foster a positive culture that reflects TLC’s values and commitment to excellence

About You

You are an experienced aged care leader with a proven track record of leading complex operations and driving outstanding service delivery.

You will bring:

- Demonstrated experience in a General Manager, Facility Manager, Site Manager, or Senior Clinical leadership role within residential aged care
- Strong understanding of aged care legislation, accreditation requirements, and clinical governance frameworks
- Experience managing AN-ACC funding, occupancy, budgets, and workforce performance
- Exceptional leadership, coaching, and stakeholder engagement skills
- A strong commitment to resident-centred care and service excellence
- Outstanding communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving capabilities
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse

Compliance Requirements

- Bachelor of Nursing qualification
- AHPRA registration
- NDIS check (including police check).




- Up-to-date COVID-19 vaccinations (3 doses).
- 2026 Influenza vaccination
- Excellent, clear communication skills.
- Proof of eligibility to work in Australia
