Week 1: Monday ( 4-7 pm) and Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (9 am - 1:30 pm)

Week 2: Monday ( 4-7 pm) and Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (9 am - 1:30 pm)

About Us:

Capecare is a not-for-profit organisation that has proudly provided aged care services in the Capes Region for over 60 years. We are currently seeking experienced and capable Catering Assistants & Kitchenhands, both Permanent Part-Time & Casual, to join our dedicated teams in Busselton and Dunsborough.

About the Role:

The Kitchenhand plays a support role within the hospitality services team by ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and smooth functioning of the kitchen environment.

Working under the direction of the Head Chef, the Kitchen Hand is responsible for maintaining high standards of hygiene through the effective cleaning of kitchen equipment, utensils, and food preparation areas.

This role also contributes to the preparation and service of meals that meet the individual dietary and nutritional needs of our residents.

The Kitchen Hand supports food preparation tasks including basic cooking, chopping, plating, and assists in maintaining the organisation of food storage areas, including unpacking deliveries and rotating stock The ideal candidates will demonstrate a commitment to high standards of work while providing considerate, person-centred care to our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

- Comply with food hygiene and cleaning procedures (HACCP)

- Wash and sanitise dishes, pots, pans and kitchen equipment.

- Support cooks with manual tasks.

- Clean benches, floors,



food storage and preparation area.

- Preform basic food preparation (e.g. chopping, peeling, sandwiches and salads)

- Maintain cleanliness and organisation in dry stores, fridges and freezers.

- Refill stock and cleaning supplies.

- Assist with storing food deliveries and rotating stock.

- Ensure all foods and drinks are labelled as per company policies and procedures.

- Follow all food safety and manual handling procedures.

- Clean bins and dispose of waste in accordance with hygiene and environmental standards.

- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.

The Ideal Candidates Will Have:

- Certificate II or III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent) preferred but not essential.

- Experience in Hospitality, Aged Care, Customer Service or a hospital environment and/or related field ideal.

- Food Handling Certificate is desirable but not essential.

- Experience with specific dietary needs (desirable).

- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team within a fast-paced environment.

- A genuine passion for providing quality care to older Australians.
