About the Roles:
Council has exciting multiple permanent full-time opportunities available for practical, hard-working people to join our outdoor crews in Townsville. These are hands-on labouring roles where no two days are the same, supporting essential work across roads, drainage, concreting and other civil maintenance activities.
As part of a crew, you will carry out general labouring duties, rotate through different tasks, support your workmates when needed, follow instructions from the Crew Leader or Team Leader, and make sure jobs are completed safely and to a high standard. Experience in roads, drainage, concreting or similar outdoor work is highly regarded.
We are looking for people who turn up on time, get stuck in, and take pride in doing a positive job. You will be working out in the community, so a respectful, down-to-earth approach when dealing with the public is important. Some after-hours and weekend work may be required to complete maintenance activities, and you will use a phone or tablet to log basic job information.
These roles offer steady Council work, training, and real opportunities to progress into higher duties, specialist roles or leadership positions over time. If you enjoy outdoor work, teamwork, and want a job serving the Townsville community with stability and room to grow, we would like to hear from you.
