About the Role We are currently seeking an undergraduate law student in their first or second year to join our Parramatta office. This role is offered on a casual basis, three days per week, and will involve a variety of legal and administrative responsibilities, providing valuable exposure to a range of client matters, including Total and Permanent Disability (TPD) claims. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside an experienced practitioner with more than two decades of experience in consumer law, litigation, dispute resolution, banking and insurance law, and a strong commitment to achieving fair outcomes for clients.
It is ideally suited to a candidate who thrives in a dynamic environment and is eager to develop practical legal skills while supporting clients through complex and often challenging circumstances.
Key Responsibilities:
Communicating professionally and empathetically with clients and other stakeholders
Assisting with the preparation of correspondence, court documents, statements, briefs and subpoenas
Conducting legal research and preparing summaries of findings
Assisting with court filings and matter management
Attending court proceedings, settlement conferences and client appointments where appropriate
Extensive file and document management
Diary coordination and scheduling support
Ad hoc assistance across a broad range of tasks from basic administrative to substantive legal matters.
Responding promptly and professionally to client and solicitor enquiries What You’ll Bring Completed their first year of study in their Undergraduate University Law degree (preferred)
Excellent typing skills with a high attention to detail
Ability to prioritise work and manage competing deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Willingness to assist with both administrative and legal tasks
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Confident, professional, and empathetic phone manner
