About the Role:
Reporting to the Head of Site Operations, working on a 4/3 FIFO roster, you will be responsible for operation of borefields & trenches, evaporation ponds, and feed and waste salt mining and haulage. You will ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations while building a high-performance team.
You will directly manage the Operations Superintendents, Process Engineer (Ponds), and Planning Engineers, and work closely with Engineering, Resource Development, and other key functions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead brine production, pond operations, and salt mining/reclaiming to deliver consistent high-quality feedstock to the Process Plant
Provide technical and operational input into Mine Planning and ensure the Mine Plan is followed, managing exceptions with minimal impact to production and cost
Oversee operation and maintenance of the Paleo borefield, managing bore yields, cost optimisation, asset integrity, and team training & wellbeing
Liaise with Procurement, Maintenance, and Finance teams to achieve mine plan targets safely
Prepare and manage operational budgets for ponds and borefield/trench systems
Manage contracting partners to deliver services safely and efficiently
Liaise with Projects team to identify capital projects early and act as key stakeholder throughout delivery (scoping to handover)
Drive blending strategies, QA/QC processes, and continuous improvement
Develop and maintain SOPs and safe work procedures
Lead statutory compliance as Quarry Manager / Schedule 26 appointee
Analyse operational data to identify trends and support decision-making
About You:
You have significant experience in managing large teams with disciplines ranging from dewatering operations to mining activities and experience in managing contractors. Strong leadership skills in motivating teams, interfacing with internal and external stakeholders and ability to analyse different options to achieve maximum efficiencies. High understanding of budget preparation process and monitoring of production and costing reporting and tracking.
WAQuarry Manager’s Certificate(or ability to obtain) and ability to meet Schedule 26 statutory requirements
Proven experience in managing large borefields and pumping systems and earthmoving operation
Experience and capability of managing large teams with multiple fronts and diverse deliverable responsibilities and skills. Contract management as well as internal teams
Demonstrated leadership in mining or process plant operations
Degree in Engineering,
Chemistry or related discipline (highly regarded)
High proficiency in Office 365, Pronto, and data analysis tools
