Dynamics 365 Business Central Functional Consultant - Permanent - 90% Remote

A Sydney-based client is looking for an experienced Dynamics 365 Business Central Functional Consultant to join their team on a permanent basis. The role is hybrid, with 1 day per week in the Sydney office and 4 days remote.

This role will support the delivery of Business Central implementations, enhancements and optimisation projects across areas such as finance, supply chain, inventory, warehousing, purchasing, sales, distribution, manufacturing, reporting and integrations.

The successful candidate will work closely with clients and internal delivery teams to gather requirements, configure Business Central, prepare functional documentation, support testing and training, and contribute to successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

- Support Business Central delivery activities across discovery, design, configuration, testing, UAT, training, go-live and post-go-live support
- Gather and document business requirements through workshops, interviews and process discussions
- Configure Business Central in line with agreed solution designs and client requirements
- Prepare functional documentation, including process flows, user stories, configuration notes, test scenarios and training materials
- Work closely with senior consultants, project leads, technical teams and developers to deliver solutions
- Support data migration, testing, defect triage, issue resolution and user training




- Build strong client relationships and communicate clearly with stakeholders
- Maintain clear project updates and elevate risks, blockers or scope changes where required
- Contribute to internal templates, delivery artefacts and knowledge sharing

Skills & Experience

- 3–5 years’ ERP consulting experience, ideally across Dynamics 365 Business Central or Dynamics NAV
- Experience supporting Business Central implementations, upgrades, enhancements or optimisation projects
- Strong understanding of core ERP processes across finance, inventory, warehousing, purchasing, sales, distribution, manufacturing or projects
- Ability to gather requirements and translate them into functional solutions
- Confident configuring Business Central and working with technical teams on integrations, extensions or customisations
- Experience with testing, UAT, data migration, training and go-live support
- Strong documentation, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Positive attention to detail, with the ability to identify gaps and provide practical recommendations
- Consulting or client-facing experience highly regarded
- Microsoft certifications such as MB-800 beneficial but not essential

This role would suit a Business Central consultant who can work independently on defined tasks, communicate effectively with clients, and elevate complex design or delivery matters to senior team members when required.
