The Role

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated person to join our team as an APS 6 Logistics Assurance Team Leader within Joint Logistics Unit East (JLU-E) located at Moorebank.

The APS 6 Logistics Assurance Team Leader is responsible for leading and managing logistics compliance activities that support the integrity, accountability and governance of Commonwealth managed inventory and warehousing operations. The role is accountable for planning, conducting and managing compliance audits, stocktaking programs and assurance activities to ensure adherence to Defence logistics policies, technical regulations and legislative requirements.

You will lead a team responsible for conducting audits, compliance checks, stocktakes and assurance activities across JLU-E and, where required, support other JLU-E detachments. You will evaluate logistics processes, identify compliance risks and opportunities for improvement, and provide advice and recommendations to management on logistics compliance performance and regulatory obligations. You will be accountable for allocating work, managing resources, setting priorities and developing strategies to achieve business outcomes.

You will build team capability through coaching, mentoring and performance feedback, while ensuring the accurate and timely completion of work.

The role requires a high level of stakeholder engagement and the ability to build and sustain effective relationships with military personnel, APS employees, contractors and subject matter experts. You will work collaboratively to resolve complex logistics compliance matters, provide technical advice, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation. You will exercise initiative and sound judgement in interpreting and applying Defence policies, procedures, technical regulations and legislative frameworks.

You will contribute to strategic planning, policy development and program management activities that enhance compliance outcomes and support Defence capability.

As Defence continues to modernise its logistics systems through SAP ERP, experience with inventory management systems and the ability to adapt to new technologies and ways of working will be highly regarded. The successful candidate will play an important role in leading the team through change, promoting innovation and maintaining compliance standards throughout system transition activities. Training and support in SAP ERP will be provided.

Our Ideal Candidate To be successful in this role, you will:

- Demonstrate proven leadership and supervisory experience, including the ability to lead teams, allocate work, manage resources and set priorities.
- Have experience planning, conducting and managing audits, assurance activities, stocktakes and compliance programs.
- Possess a strong understanding of logistics, warehousing and inventory management systems.
- Be capable of interpreting and applying legislative,



policy and regulatory frameworks within a logistics environment.
- Have experience preparing, analysing and presenting complex reports on compliance, audit and assurance activities.
- Demonstrate sound judgement and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify risks and develop practical solutions to complex issues.
- Be confident providing advice and recommendations on logistics compliance policies, regulations and business processes.
- Build and sustain productive relationships with a broad range of stakeholders and effectively manage stakeholder expectations.
- Work collaboratively with subject matter experts and stakeholders to resolve logistics compliance matters and achieve organisational outcomes.
- Possess strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with a high attention to detail.
- Demonstrate experience coaching, mentoring and developing employees to build team capability and performance.
- Be able to work effectively in a complex and changing environment, remaining flexible, adaptable and resilient.
- Have a high level of computer literacy, including experience with inventory management and enterprise resource planning systems.
- Be committed to ongoing self-improvement, learning and professional development.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support the development of compliance frameworks, procedures and business processes.
