Alltruck Bodies is a successful Australian manufacturer of rigid truck bodies. As our business continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced and proactive Maintenance Supervisor to join our busy manufacturing team.
The primary purpose of this position is to ensure our manufacturing plants, machinery and equipment operate safely and efficiently, with minimal disruption to production.
The Maintenance Supervisor will develop, implement and manage a comprehensive preventative maintenance program based on industry best practice. You will work closely with the Operations team to coordinate maintenance activities, reduce unplanned downtime and identify opportunities to improve plant reliability, safety and efficiency.
Key responsibilities
- Assess machinery and equipment breakdowns and ensure repairs are completed safely and promptly.
- Plan and schedule maintenance activities for all plant, machinery and equipment.
- Establish, implement and maintain preventative maintenance schedules.
- Monitor spare parts, supplies and equipment inventories and initiate reordering when required.
- Ensure adequate stock levels of critical spare parts are maintained and readily available.
- Continuously review plant equipment and systems to minimise unplanned downtime and identify potential problems before they affect production.
- Prepare reports, analyse maintenance data and recommend improvements to plant performance and operating systems.
- Investigate and resolve maintenance-related issues.
- Calibrate machinery, equipment and instruments as required.
- Assist in identifying and implementing solutions to workplace safety issues.
- Initiate and deliver projects that improve operational efficiency and reduce operating costs.
- Support site projects, including health and safety improvements involving plant and machinery.
- Assist with the installation and implementation of new machinery and equipment.
- Coordinate machinery projects with Operations and other key stakeholders.
- Ensure maintenance activities are completed in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements.
What you’ll need to succeed
- A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- A current A Grade Electrical Licence.
- At least five years’ experience in a maintenance management or supervisory position within a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience as a Maintenance Fitter will be highly regarded.
- Strong planning, organisational and leadership skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to read and interpret schematic drawings, plans and technical specifications.
- Technical knowledge of building-material manufacturing is preferred but not essential.
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
- The ability to remain calm, organised and solutions-focused in a busy manufacturing environment.
