Litton Andrews is proud to partner with a highly respected private neurology practice in Spring Hill to recruit an experienced and career-focused Medical Secretary. Key Responsibilities Include (but Will Not Be Limited To)
- Providing a professional and welcoming first point of contact for patients, visitors and referrers
- Managing incoming telephone enquiries and responding to patient requests in a courteous and timely manner
- Coordinating specialist appointments, recalls,
and waiting lists
- Preparing patient files and ensuring medical records are maintained accurately and confidentially
- Processing referrals, correspondence, and specialist reports
- Liaising with general practitioners, allied health professionals, hospitals and other healthcare providers
- Managing appointment confirmations and patient follow-up communications
- Assisting with medical billing, invoicing, Medicare claims, and EFTPOS transactions
- Maintaining accurate patient demographic and billing information within the practice management system – Shexie
- Processing all inpatient billing using Eclipse
- Supporting the specialist and wider team with administrative duties to ensure the smooth day to day operation of the practice
- Managing incoming and outgoing mail, emails, and other practice correspondence
- Contributing to a positive, patient-centred environment and upholding the highest standards of customer service
Skills And Experience Required Include
- Previous experience in a medical secretarial role within a private specialist practice will be highly regarded
- A genuine interest in healthcare and delivering exceptional patient care
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills,
with the ability to interact professionally with patients, clinicians and external stakeholders
- A compassionate, empathetic and patient-focused approach
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and work efficiently in a busy practice setting
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy when handling confidential information and documentation
- Sound computer literacy skills, including experience with Microsoft Office applications
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a close-knit team
- A proactive attitude, willingness to learn and strong work ethic
Remuneration
This position will offer a competitive hourly rate between $38 - $42 per hour + superannuation, based on recent and relevant skills and experience. Additional benefits of the position include:
