In this role

This is a senior leadership opportunity responsible for leading and uplifting business analysis capability across complex portfolios and programs within Transport for NSW. You will provide both strategic oversight and hands‑on delivery, ensuring business analysis activities are consistent, high quality, and aligned to organisational priorities, governance frameworks, and delivery outcomes. The role is central to shaping how business problems are understood and translated into structured, actionable outcomes. You will work across complex, multi‑stakeholder environments, partnering with delivery leads, project managers, architects, and business stakeholders to ensure analysis is fully integrated into the end‑to‑end delivery lifecycle. You will lead and coordinate business analysis activities across multiple initiatives, ensuring requirements are clearly defined, solution options are explored, and outcomes are aligned with business needs, technology capabilities, and regulatory obligations. A key focus of the role is uplifting the Business Analysis (BA) practice, establishing consistent standards, governance, frameworks, and methodologies across portfolios. You will drive quality assurance across BA deliverables, ensuring outputs are structured, defensible, and support effective decision‑making, business cases, and delivery outcomes. You will also provide hands‑on leadership on complex or strategically significant initiatives,



leading problem definition, facilitation, options analysis, and requirements development in environments with ambiguity and competing priorities. The role includes supporting funding gates, assurance processes, and executive reporting, ensuring analysis contributes to investment decisions, governance requirements, and portfolio prioritisation. As a senior leader, you will mentor and develop Business Analysts, managing workloads, building capability, and fostering a collaborative, high‑performing environment across teams operating in a dynamic delivery landscape.

About You

- You are an experienced Principal Business Analyst or BA Practice Lead with proven experience leading and uplifting business analysis capability across complex portfolios or programs.
- You bring strong experience establishing BA frameworks, standards, governance, and delivery approaches, ensuring consistency, quality, and maturity across analysis practices.
- You have excellent stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills, with the ability to influence senior business, technology, and delivery stakeholders across competing priorities and complex environments.
- You are highly skilled at translating strategic objectives and ambiguous business problems into structured delivery outcomes, including roadmaps, prioritised requirements, and solution options.
- You have demonstrated experience leading BA teams (directly or indirectly), including coaching, mentoring,



quality assurance, and capability uplift, and building a strong, collaborative BA community.
- You bring strong experience working within large‑scale governance and delivery environments, including business case development, funding and assurance gates, and executive‑level reporting.
- You have a deep understanding of the end‑to‑end delivery lifecycle, working closely with delivery, architecture, and business teams to drive outcomes rather than operating in isolation.
- You are analytical, structured, and outcomes‑focused, with the ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity while maintaining clarity and delivering high‑quality results.
- With a proactive and collaborative leadership style, you are passionate about strengthening business analysis capability, improving decision‑making, and enabling successful delivery outcomes across Transport.
