About the role:
This is a unique opportunity to lead RACQ's payroll function through a significant period of transformation, driving operational excellence, compliance, and innovation across end-to-end payroll services. Leading a high-performing team, you'll partner with HR, Finance, and key stakeholders to modernise systems, enhance processes, and deliver an exceptional payroll experience for our people.
- Lead RACQ's end-to-end payroll function, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll delivery across the Group while championing a customer-focused employee experience.
- Drive payroll transformation and continuous improvement initiatives, optimising systems, processes, controls, and reporting to enhance efficiency, compliance, and operational performance.
- Lead, develop and empower a high-performing payroll team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, capability development, and service excellence.
- Partner with HR, Finance and key stakeholders to provide expert payroll guidance, manage legislative compliance, mitigate risk, and support strategic business objectives.
- Oversee payroll governance, reporting and financial controls, including reconciliations, statutory remittances, audits, payroll tax, superannuation obligations, and annual compliance reporting.
What You'll Bring:
- Proven experience leading payroll operations within a large and complex organisation, with the ability to manage, develop and inspire a high-performing payroll team.
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation,
taxation, superannuation, Awards, Enterprise Agreements, and remuneration frameworks, with a track record of ensuring compliance and mitigating risk.
- Demonstrated expertise in payroll systems, process optimisation, and continuous improvement initiatives, with experience driving operational efficiency and service excellence.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted partnerships across HR, Finance, and the broader business while delivering a customer-focused employee experience.
- Diploma qualification in a relevant discipline and 5+ years' payroll leadership experience; experience with iChris/Chris21, Australian Payroll Association membership, Certified Payroll Specialist accreditation, or tertiary qualifications in Business or Accounting will be highly regarded.
