Lead operations at the largest marina in Victoria - Excellent by Day, Magic at Night!

Westernport Marina is seeking an experienced Marina Operations Manager to join our team on a full-time basis in Hastings on the Mornington Peninsula.

Reporting to the Marina General Manager and as a key member of the marina leadership team, this role is a strategic operational position that oversees the day-to-day operations of our marina facility, ensuring excellence in service delivery, safety compliance, and customer satisfaction. A very broad range of private, commercial, sail and power vessels call our marina home!

This is a hands-on role, onsite 5 days per week, to meet face-to-face with our marina users and manage operational and productivity requirements The Marina Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in leading the marina operations team, managing daily operations, optimising operational resourcing efficiency and driving business performance across all areas of the marina.

Key responsibilities

- Oversee daily marina operations - manage resource allocation to meet operations and maintenance scheduling, prioritising routine facility upkeep, to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all users
- Lead and plan marina boatyard vessel movements - wet berth, dry berth, hardstand movements and boat travel lift operations.
- Identify business revenue opportunities and cost control initiatives to maximise profitability and operational efficiency
- Supervise and lead marina operations staff, including work roster scheduling, training plans, performance management and development opportunities
- Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety,



environmental and client vessel regulations, including site emergency response procedures.
- Maintain comprehensive records and reporting on operational business metrics and relevant financial drivers for the business.
- In conjunction with the marina maintenance supervisor, coordinate work for external contractors and service providers
- Monitor facilities and equipment condition, arranging maintenance and repairs to prevent operational disruptions
- Promote marina services and participate in marketing discussions with the marina leadership team to attract current customers and increase occupancy rates

What we're looking for

- Demonstrated experience leading a team in a marina or similar marine service provider facility.
- Trade, marine and/or tertiary qualifications preferred - marine qualifications, management, business, OHS,
- Previous experience in boat travel lift / straddle carrier operations is advantageous
- A knowledge of relevant safety protocols and environmental compliance requirements for marine vessels.
- Demonstrated experience in working with site contractors (marine, mechanical, electrical)
- Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members




- A customer service orientation with proven ability to negotiate and resolve challenging issues and maintain positive relationships
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is advantageous
- A valid driver's licence and willingness to be available for emergencies outside standard hours
