Our client, a local City council, is seeking a talented Marketing and Communications Officer to join their Marketing & Communications team within Public Relations & Stakeholder Engagement.

Reporting to the Coordinator Marketing and Communications, you will help develop, implement and maintain the City's communications strategies, ensuring activities remain relevant and engaging for the community and stakeholders, whilst supporting broader marketing initiatives.

What you'll do:

- Assist in developing and implementing public relations and communications strategies, policies and initiatives
- Manage and maintain the City's website, social media channels and online consultation tools
- Research, develop and deliver communications and promotional opportunities informed by market research and analytics
- Write and edit editorial content, and oversee production of corporate publications and e-newsletters
- Undertake graphic design and video production for marketing collateral
- Monitor digital and social media channels to ensure compliance with the City's Style Guide
- Maintain the City's photographic library and place advertisements via Marketforce's AdsPlus system
- Prepare speeches, presentations and correspondence for senior staff as required




- Provide general administrative and research support to the Marketing & Communications team

What you'll bring:

- A relevant qualification in communications, marketing, journalism, media studies or a related field (or significant progress towards one)
- Proven experience developing and implementing organisational communication strategies
- Strong digital and social media skills, including experience with content management systems
- Excellent written communication, editing and proofreading skills
- Sound research, analytical and report writing skills
- Well developed organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance Certificate (dated within the last twelve months)

Desirable:

- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Lightroom)
- Experience with video editing software (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition)
- Previous media liaison experience
- A current driver's licence
