Material Science Expert (AI Training) About The Role What if your deep knowledge of semiconductor materials or molecular modeling could directly shape how AI reasons through the most complex problems in materials science? We're looking for Materials Science experts — Masters and PhD-level — to help train and evaluate cutting-edge AI models, ensuring they think with the precision, depth, and rigor that real science demands. This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for researchers and domain specialists who want to put their expertise to work in a new and impactful way.
No prior AI experience required — full training support is provided.

Commitment: 10–40 hours/week What You'll Do Develop, solve, and critically review advanced materials science problems with real-world relevance
Apply deep expertise in semiconductor materials, molecular modeling, or related specializations to design complex, high-quality problem statements
Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and fellow domain experts to strengthen AI model reasoning
Evaluate AI-generated scientific content for accuracy, rigor, and conceptual soundness
Ensure clarity, depth, and scientific integrity across all deliverables
Complete task-based assignments independently on your own schedule Who You Are Master's or PhD in Materials Science or a closely related field
Robust expertise in semiconductor materials, molecular modeling, or adjacent research areas
Comfortable coding in Python or MATLAB for research or computational work
Naturally detail-oriented with a rigorous, systematic approach to scientific problems
Clear and precise written communicator — you can explain complex ideas with accuracy and depth
Currently based in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Australia, or New Zealand Nice to Have Experience with data annotation, data quality assessment, or AI evaluation workflows
Background in computational materials science, nanomaterials, or quantum materials
Prior involvement in interdisciplinary research or industry-applied materials work
