Overview This role reports to the Gudai‑Darri WesTrac Superintendent and is located in Gudai Darri, WA, AU. The Mechanician will diagnose, calibrate, commission and provide ongoing support for the MineStar range of systems on Caterpillar (CAT) and other Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) machines in accordance with manufacturer standards, customer requirements, WesTrac’s core SPARC values and Life Saving Commitments.

Work Hours FIFO roster: 8 days on / 6 off, 7 nights on / 7 off, 12 hours per day.

Responsibilities - Diagnose, calibrate, commission and support MineStar systems on CAT and OEM equipment.

- Conduct advanced diagnostics and continuous improvements of base machine mechanical and electrical maintenance where the base machine interface impacts the operation of Caterpillar Technology.
- Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on AHS‑enabled CAT and OEM machines.
- Install, calibrate and commission MineStar system components.
- Troubleshoot and repair CAT surface machine systems.
- Create and review technical documentation and schematics.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and support site operations.
- Ensure QA/QC standards are met for all installations and repairs.





Qualifications - Australian recognised Heavy Mobile Technology or Automotive Electrical Technology Trade Certificate.

- Advanced diagnostics skills in hydraulic, pneumatic and heavy‑diesel systems, and/or advanced experience in Machine Control & Guidance.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build and maintain successful working relationships.
- Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and technical specifications.
- Previous experience in a mining setting.
