Medical Receptionist (Casual)

About the Role

As a Medical Receptionist, you will be responsible for:

- Greeting patients and providing exceptional customer service

- Managing appointments and doctor schedules

- Answering and directing phone calls

- Processing Medicare, EFTPOS and private billings

- Registering new patients and maintaining accurate medical records

- Scanning, filing and general administrative duties

- Managing emails and electronic correspondence

- Liaising with doctors, nurses and allied health professionals

- Assisting with the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice

- Strong computer skills and the ability to quickly learn current systems
- The ability to remain calm and organised in a busy environment
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team

- Reliable, punctual and flexible availability

Desirable (but not essential)

- Previous experience in medical reception or healthcare administration

- Experience using Best Practice Premier or similar practice management software

- Knowledge of Medicare billing and patient claiming processes

- Experience using HotDoc or similar online booking systems
