About the role

Perth Airport is seeking a Sustainability Project Advisor to support the integration of sustainability across its capital project portfolio on a fixed term contract until early 2028. Sitting within the Sustainability Team and working closely with the Corporate Management Office, this role will help define, maintain and improve the systems, governance frameworks, tools and guidance that enable projects to embed sustainability from early planning through to delivery. This is a key advisory role that connects project delivery with corporate sustainability objectives, supporting fit‑for‑purpose, whole‑of‑life and authentic sustainability outcomes. You will help projects meet current and future certification requirements, including Green Star and ISC, while building internal capability and improving how sustainability is governed, measured and reported across the business.

Your key responsibilities

- Providing corporate guidance and governance direction to project teams, the Program Management Office, Delivery Management Office and Property team to embed sustainability into projects.
- Developing and improving sustainability processes, templates, tools and guidance that support consistent project delivery and certification outcomes.
- Reviewing planning assessments, tender documents, contractor sustainability management plans and project progress reports to ensure sustainability requirements are understood and applied.
- Supporting project sustainability assessments at key stage gates and helping ensure requirements are appropriately defined, maintained and assured.
- Monitoring sustainability risks, implementation trends and portfolio‑level gaps, escalating issues and supporting practical mitigation strategies.
- Contributing to reporting,



dashboards and portfolio‑level insights that help inform decision‑making and demonstrate sustainability outcomes, risks and benefits.
- Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including project teams, consultants, service providers and certification bodies.
- Supporting projects to work towards Green Star and ISC certification targets while strengthening Perth Airport’s internal sustainability capability.

About You

You’re a practical and collaborative sustainability qualified who can translate sustainability objectives into clear project requirements, governance processes and usable tools. You bring strong stakeholder engagement skills, sound judgement and the ability to work across complex project environments while keeping outcomes, assurance and continuous improvement front of mind.

To be successful in this role, you will have

- A relevant undergraduate qualification in sustainability, environmental management, engineering, architecture or a related discipline, supported by experience in sustainability and/or project environments.
- Strong knowledge of sustainability rating tools and certification pathways such as IS, Green Star, NABERS or WELL.
- Experience developing or supporting governance frameworks, assurance processes, reporting systems or project controls across a portfolio or complex project environment.
- Strong data analysis and reporting capability, including the ability to review,



validate and translate sustainability information into meaningful insights and executive‑level reporting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to influence, guide and build trusted relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
- The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines while maintaining strong attention to detail and quality.
- A team-oriented, organised and solutions‑focused approach, with the resilience to work through ambiguity and support practical sustainability outcomes.
- Self‑motivation, strong problem‑solving skills and a genuine interest in building sustainable infrastructure outcomes for the future.
