The Opportunity
We're seeking a HR Advisor to join our People & Culture team to provide operational and advisory support throughout the full employee lifecycle to ensure effective, compliant people management practices across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide timely, practical HR advice to managers and employees on policies, procedures, employment obligations, and workplace matters.
- Support frontline leaders with minor employee relations and case management matters, including performance management, conduct and policy interpretation.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, modern awards, company policies and procedures.
- Manage recruitment processes for office-based and field roles with the support of P&C; Officer.
- Coordinate onboarding activities and facilitate recent-starter check-ins and exit-interview feedback processes.
- Support HR Administration, Recruitment and Training functions based on operational requirements.
- Prepare and manage HR reporting, including client reporting, exit interviews, stay surveys and workforce metrics.
- Work closely with the People & Culture Manager to review and update policies and procedures in line with legislative and operational requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across People & Culture functions.
- Support the implementation of People & Culture projects and initiatives across the business.
- Conduct ad hoc site visits as required to support operational and workforce needs.
- Undertake any other duties as reasonably directed by the People & Culture Manager or General Manager.
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience in Human Resources, including operational experience in an HR Advisory capacity, preferably within the mining industry.
- Proven experience providing employee relations advice, including performance management, policy interpretation and working with modern awards.
- Proven experience in updating relevant policies and procedures and complying with Fair Work legislation updates
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities with strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to build positive working relationships across all levels of the organisation.
- Adaptable and proactive approach with willingness to support broader business needs.
- Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Highly developed verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work confidently under pressure and manage competing priorities.
- Qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or a related discipline,
or significant equivalent practical experience.
- Robust understanding of confidentiality, professionalism and business ethics.
- Current Western Australian C Class Driver’s Licence.
- Experience within the mining, drilling or heavy industrial sectors.
- Ability to adapt within a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Previous experience in Success Factor
This role is primarily office-based with occasional travel to operational sites as required by business needs. The position operates within a dynamic mining and drilling environment that requires flexibility, professionalism, and a strong commitment to safety.
About You
- Proven experience in HR advisory, minimum 3 years in a fast-paced environment
- High level of initiative with a proactive and can-do attitude
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong administrative and organisational skills; ability to multitask under pressure
- Experience with SAP SuccessFactors (highly regarded)
- Working knowledge of employment legislation
- Intermediate or higher proficiency in MS Office and reporting
