ABOUT THE ROLE The Underground Mobile Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading the safe and effective execution of underground mobile maintenance activities.
The position provides day-to-day leadership and direction to HD Mechanics, Auto Electricians, Boilermakers, Service Personnel and contractors while ensuring maintenance work is completed safely and in accordance with statutory requirements, company standards and maintenance plans.
Working closely with Operations, Planning and Engineering, you will coordinate planned maintenance and breakdown repairs to improve equipment availability, reliability and cost performance.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to underground mobile maintenance personnel and contractors.
- Mentor team members in troubleshooting, safe work practices and workmanship standards.
- Support frontline employees with job setup, work sequencing and resource organisation.
- Monitor employee training, competency and development across underground mobile equipment.
- Lead by example through visible safety leadership, field verification, pre-start meetings and safety interactions.
- Ensure isolations, permits, barricading and critical controls are correctly applied.
- Coach employees in hazard identification, risk assessment and effective risk controls.
- Maintain and execute Schedule 26 statutory compliance requirements.
- Ensure contractors and vendors meet site access, induction and WHS requirements.
- Lead the on-ground execution of major breakdown repairs.
- Coordinate labour and resources against the weekly maintenance schedule.
- Ensure scheduled maintenance activities are completed and accurately closed within the maintenance system.
- Review equipment defects and confirm the required labour and parts are included in maintenance schedules.
- Maintain clear communication with the Foreman, Superintendent, Planning, Warehouse, Reliability and Operations.
- Provide accurate shift handovers and progress updates.
- Engage OEM representatives and technical specialists when additional support is required.
ABOUT YOU
- Mechanical or Electrical Trade qualification in heavy plant.
- Minimum three years’ experience as a Mobile Maintenance Supervisor or in a similar mining leadership role.
- Previous experience maintaining underground mobile equipment.
- Broad knowledge of underground mobile equipment fleets.
- Strong leadership and people-management skills.
- Experience managing planned maintenance, breakdowns and maintenance resources.
- Experience using SAP, AMT or a similar maintenance management system.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with employees, contractors, OEMs and internal stakeholders.
- Current unrestricted Western Australian C Class Driver’s Licence.
- Schedule 26 statutory qualification or the ability to meet the statutory requirements.
- Certificate IV in Frontline Management is desirable.
- Senior First Aid Certificate is desirable.
- Ability to satisfy NGF pre-employment, medical, drug and alcohol, GSDU and NPC clearance requirements.
