About HelloTech

HelloTech is a fast-growing mobile technology support company providing premium in-home and small business IT support across Sydney. We help customers with everything from computer repairs and Wi-Fi issues to smart-home technology and ongoing technical support. We are expanding our Sydney technician network and would like to hear from capable, customer-focused technology professionals interested in additional local work.

This is an independent contracting opportunity, not an employment position. It may suit an established IT professional looking to supplement an existing workload or someone seeking to grow their own technical services business with the support of a premium consumer brand.

Use your technical skills on your terms

Finding customers, coordinating appointments and managing payment administration can consume time that would be better spent doing valuable technical work. HelloTech provides an alternative. You decide the locations and times that suit you and whether to accept each booking offered.

There are no minimum hours or minimum booking commitments.

How the partnership operates

The HelloTech technician app puts you in control of your participation:

1. Nominate the suburbs in which you are prepared to work.
2. Indicate when you would like to be available.
3. Record the types of technology you are equipped to support.
4. Review suitable booking opportunities when they become available.
5. Accept the jobs that fit your location, capabilities and schedule.
6. Use the app to navigate to the customer, record the work and close the booking.

HelloTech manages customer invoicing and payment administration, with contractor payments processed weekly.

The types of work available

Depending on your nominated capabilities, customer bookings may involve:

- Diagnosing and repairing PC or Mac problems




- Improving computer performance and completing tune-ups
- Setting up or troubleshooting Wi-Fi and home networks
- Identifying and removing viruses or malware
- Configuring televisions, tablets, mobile phones and other devices
- Installing or supporting connected-home technology
- Helping home and business customers with other everyday technology issues

The customer experience

Technical knowledge is important, but so is the ability to make customers feel comfortable and informed. You will be expected to diagnose problems methodically, recommend practical solutions and explain the outcome without unnecessary jargon. You should take pride in providing a professional on-site experience and leaving customers confident about the technology they use.

- Solid practical knowledge across a range of computers, devices and operating systems
- A genuine interest in technology and helping people
- Clear, patient and professional communication skills
- A reliable vehicle and the ability to travel to customer locations
- Your own laptop and basic diagnostic or troubleshooting equipment
- An Australian Business Number, or the willingness to obtain one
