About the employer

The business (ABN 24 638 483 600) is a locally owned real estate agency in Darwin, Northern Territory, servicing Darwin and Palmerston. They provide real estate sales, rental, property management and client-focused real estate services. They are seeking a skilled Painter to support property presentation, maintenance and improvement works for residential properties managed or serviced by the agency.

About the Role

The Painter will carry out painting, surface preparation, repair and finishing work on residential properties. The role requires practical trade skills, attention to detail and the ability to work safely and professionally in occupied and vacant properties.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

- Preparing interior and exterior surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, patching and priming.
- Applying paint, varnish, stains,



sealers and other finishes to walls, ceilings, doors, trims and other surfaces.
- Matching paint colours and finishes according to job requirements.
- Repairing minor surface defects, cracks and damaged paintwork.
- Using brushes, rollers, spray equipment and other painting tools safely and effectively.
- Protecting floors, furniture, fittings and property areas before commencing work.
- Estimating materials required for painting and maintenance jobs.
- Ensuring all work is completed to a professional standard and within required timeframes.
- Maintaining tools, equipment and work areas in a safe and clean condition.
- Liaising with property managers, tenants, contractors and owners in a professional manner.
- Following workplace health and safety procedures at all times.

Skills and Experience Required

Applicants must have:

- At least 2 years of painting experience in residential, commercial or maintenance settings.
- Trade qualification in painting and decorating or equivalent relevant experience.
- Strong skills in surface preparation, paint application and finishing.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple job sites.
- Valuable attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Current driver licence and ability to travel to properties across Darwin and Palmerston.
- Own basic tools will be highly regarded.
- Experience in residential property maintenance or real estate-related maintenance will be advantageous.
