Lead Operations for Australia's Largest Independent Vending Operator

Benleigh Vending Systems is Australia's largest independent vending operator, delivering premium vending solutions to businesses across Australia. Our product range includes snack & drink, frozen food, coffee, PPE, technology and specialist vending systems, supported by a national service network.

As part of our continued growth, we're looking for an experienced Operations Manager to lead our South Australian operation.

Reporting directly to the Managing Directors, you'll oversee approximately 30 employees across warehouse operations, logistics, field service, procurement and inventory management while driving operational excellence, customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.

About the Role

As Operations Manager, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of our South Australian operations, ensuring our vending fleet is serviced efficiently while maintaining exceptional customer service standards.

You'll oversee warehouse operations, transport and logistics, inventory management, fleet scheduling, procurement, vending machine installations and preventative maintenance, while leading a high-performing operations team.

This is a hands-on leadership role where no two days are the same.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Leadership

- Lead all operational activities across the South Australian business.
- Manage warehouse, logistics and field service operations.
- Develop and implement operational procedures and best practices.
- Monitor operational KPIs and drive continuous improvement.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity through automation and technology.




- Work closely with the Sales and Management teams to support business growth.

Warehouse & Inventory

- Manage warehouse operations and inventory accuracy.
- Maintain stock control systems and conduct regular stocktakes.
- Minimise stock loss, damage and product expiry.
- Improve warehouse layout and storage efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards.

Logistics & Fleet

- Coordinate daily replenishment schedules.
- Optimise delivery routes and technician schedules.
- Manage incoming freight and supplier deliveries.
- Coordinate vending machine installations, relocations and removals.
- Monitor fleet utilisation, maintenance and operating costs.

Leadership

- Lead, coach and develop warehouse staff, drivers and field service technicians.
- Build a positive, high-performance team culture.
- Ensure workplace health and safety compliance.
- Conduct performance reviews and ongoing staff development.

Supplier & Customer Management

- Manage supplier relationships and purchasing.
- Resolve operational issues quickly and professionally.
- Deliver consistently high customer service standards.
- Ensure service level agreements are achieved.

About You We're looking for a motivated leader who enjoys solving problems, improving processes and developing people.

You'll ideally have experience in:

- Proven Operations Management experience.
- Experience leading teams of 20+ employees.
- Strong warehouse and inventory management skills.
- Experience with logistics, transport and route planning.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Experience with ERP or warehouse management systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent organisational and planning abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Current Australian driver's licence.

Highly Regarded

- Experience within vending, food service, FMCG or distribution.
- Experience managing field service technicians.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Forklift licence.
- Lean or Continuous Improvement experience.
- Experience using telematics or fleet management software.
