Duties and Responsibilities
Planning and Operations
- Advise senior management on operational requirements and resource planning to meet customer contract and tender obligations.
- Manage and allocate resources to ensure contractual service delivery across all assigned sites.
- Oversee workforce planning, including permanent, part-time, and casual employees, to maintain adequate site coverage.
- Support recruitment activities, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding new employees as required.
- Monitor rostered and worked hours to ensure compliance with employment obligations and contract requirements.
- Measure, monitor, and report on contract performance against agreed client KPIs and service levels.
- Support the implementation of new contracts, projects, and operational initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and continuous improvement.
Client and Stakeholder Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
- Act as the primary operational escalation point for client concerns and service issues.
- Conduct regular client meetings and reviews to ensure service expectations are met or exceeded.
- Ensure operational delivery aligns with contract requirements and client expectations.
Administration and Reporting
- Prepare operational reports, including daily, weekly, monthly,
and annual performance reports.
- Maintain accurate employee, training, and compliance records.
- Complete general operational administration and documentation requirements.
- Support payroll validation processes through accurate roster and timesheet management.
- Monitor and record mandatory training, licensing, and compliance requirements for all security personnel.
Quality, Safety and Compliance
- Implement and maintain Quality, Work Health and Safety (WHS), and Environmental Management System requirements.
- Ensure all employees understand and comply with relevant policies, procedures, and reporting processes.
- Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and investigations as required.
- Identify, report, and implement corrective actions to address non-conformances and prevent recurrence.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with legislative and client-specific requirements.
Leadership and Team Management
- Be accountable for the operational delivery and performance of client sites.
- Ensure site teams consistently deliver security services to the highest professional standard.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture across Allied Security employees and contracted personnel.
- Ensure all security staff are appropriately trained, licensed, inducted, and deployed to meet operational requirements.
- Conduct performance management, coaching, and development activities in line with Allied Security policies and procedures.
- Lead by example by demonstrating professionalism, accountability, and a solid customer service focus.
Other Responsibilities
- Participate in after-hours operational support and incident management as required.
- Support business development activities, including tender responses and client retention initiatives.
- Undertake other duties as reasonably directed by management.
Skills and Experience
Essential
- MUST HAVE current NV1 Clearance
- Minimum 5 years' experience in the security industry.
- Previous experience in an Operations Manager, State Operations Lead, Regional Manager, or similar operational leadership role.
- Sound knowledge of security operations, workforce management, and industry best practices.
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety legislation and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated experience managing large, geographically dispersed workforces.
- Exceptional stakeholder and client relationship management skills.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team development capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and perform effectively under pressure.
- High level of organisational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
Desirable
- Certificate IV in Security and Risk Management or higher.
- Crowd Controller and Security Officer licences (where applicable).
- Experience managing government, healthcare, critical infrastructure, or major retail security contracts.
- First Aid certificate
