Animal Eye Care (AEC) – Malvern East, VIC – Full time RR‑10385 Responsibilities - Oversee patient comfort and monitor vital signs during anaesthesia while maintaining accurate records.

- Administer medications and manage IV catheter maintenance with precision.
- Provide clear communication to clients, particularly regarding detailed discharge instructions.
- Uphold exceptional standards of cleanliness and organisation in ward and surgical areas.
- Conduct instrument cleaning and sterilisation, with minimal involvement due to dedicated Vet Nurse Assistant support.
- Perform light reception duties, including triaging emergency cases, scheduling appointments, and coordinating with clients and referring veterinarians.
- Serve as an ophthalmic assistant post‑training, conducting thorough ophthalmic histories and basic eye examinations. Execute tests such as pupillary light reflex (PLR), menace response, Schirmer tear test, and tonometry with expertise.
- Collaborate effectively with the veterinary team to ensure optimal patient care.
- Maintain a professional demeanour while fostering a welcoming environment for clients and their pets. Qualifications, Skills and Attributes - At least 3 years of veterinary nursing experience.
- Robust enthusiasm for anaesthesia and surgical procedures.

- Mature and responsible demeanour.
- Must be an Australian citizen or possess a valid work visa.
- No prior experience in ophthalmology necessary; comprehensive training provided.
