About The Role

Reporting to the Head of Cloud and leading a team of five, this role owns the technical direction, architecture and reliability of the cloud and platform environment. Working closely with engineering, data, delivery and vendor stakeholders, the role drives modernisation, platform excellence and stronger engineering outcomes.

Duties / Key responsibilities





- Own end-to-end cloud platform strategy including architecture, reliability, security and cost optimisation
- Lead cloud modernisation initiatives and establish platform standards and operating models
- Drive DevOps maturity through Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD automation and self-service capabilities
- Provide technical leadership and mentor platform and engineering teams
- Partner with internal stakeholders and vendors to deliver secure, scalable solutions

Skills and experience

- 10+ years’ experience across cloud engineering, infrastructure, platform engineering or DevOps
- Strong hands‑on experience across Azure including networking, governance, identity and security
- Demonstrated experience designing and scaling enterprise cloud platforms
- Deep capability across Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, automation and observability
- Experience leading technical teams and uplifting engineering standards
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing capability
- Proven experience balancing architecture, operational performance and cost outcomes
- Relevant Microsoft Azure certifications highly regarded
