Behaviour Support Practitioner (Core Level+)
Not another NDIS job posting.
- Sydney (hybrid)
- Full-time
If you're a behaviour support practitioner (BSP) who's genuinely curious about why people do what they do—and you want to reduce restrictive practices, not just manage them—keep reading.
We're looking for someone sharp. Someone who asks good questions. Someone who does complex clinical work because it matters.
The Real Work
At DMI Psychology, Positive Behaviour Support isn't a compliance box. It's clinical work that demands a BSP who has a knack for getting to know their clients deeply, can think on their feet, and work with a wide range of people involved in the client's suppport system.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
- Functional behaviour assessments (FBA). Real formulation: setting events, engaging operations, antecedents, consequences, and the clinical reasoning behind your analysis.
- Designing behaviour support strategies and reducing restrictive practices. Individualised, evidence-based, grounded in the person's actual presentation.
- Training and influencing. Supporting carers, families, and staff to implement practical strategies. You shift how people work with someone.
- Contributing to clinical culture. You challenge ideas. You bring research and reflection into daily practice and support your colleagues to do the same.
Your Clinical Growth Path
We support progression from Core through to all levels of registration, and leadership pathways. Growth is based on demonstrated capability, not tenure, with opportunities to develop specialist expertise,
mentoring skills, and increased clinical responsibility.
Our Benefits to You
- Competitive base salary (based on experience and capability).
- Performance bonus.
- $1,000 annual CPD allowance. We are a team that loves to learn.
- Weekly group clinical supervision. Real case formulation that challenges and refines your thinking.
- Monthly individual clinical supervision.
- Mentorship and peer consultation. Access to experienced clinicians who support your development.
- Hybrid flexibility that works. In-office for team days, out for client work. Your schedule is yours within that.
- Travel reimbursement.
- Access to ongoing training. Specialist modules in trauma, neurodivergence, forensic presentations, restraint minimisation.
What You'll Need
- NDIS Registered Behaviour Support Practitioner (Core Level or above)
- Completed NDIS PBS Self-Assessment Tool (signed by clinical supervisor)
- Completed New Entry-Level BSP Reconsideration Endorsement Tool (signed by clinical supervisor)
- Background in Psychology, Social Work, OT, or related discipline (or demonstrated equivalent clinical training)
- Demonstrated behaviour support practice. Minimum 1-2 years, with exposure to complex presentations
- Active driver's licence, vehicle and comprehensive insurance
- NDIS Screening + WWCC + full Australian working rights
Ready?
If this aligns with the kind of work you'd like to be doing, we'd love to hear from you.
