We are seeking a skilled and experienced Panel Beater to repair and restore damaged vehicle bodywork to a high standard. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing vehicle damage, repairing panels, replacing damaged components, and ensuring vehicles are restored to their original condition while meeting safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect vehicles to assess the extent of body damage and required repairs
- Repair, straighten, and replace damaged vehicle panels and body components
- Remove dents, scratches, and structural damage using appropriate tools and techniques
- Perform panel repairs, welding, cutting, and reshaping of metal components
- Fit replacement panels, doors, bonnets, guards, and other body parts
- Prepare repaired surfaces for painting and finishing
- Ensure all repairs meet manufacturer specifications and workplace quality standards
- Use hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment safely and effectively
- Work closely with spray painters, mechanics, and supervisors to complete repairs efficiently
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience as a Panel Beater or in automotive body repair
- Robust knowledge of vehicle repair techniques and bodywork processes
- Ability to read repair instructions and assess vehicle damage accurately
- Experience with welding, panel fabrication, and body alignment
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving skills and time management abilities
Qualifications
- Trade qualification in Automotive Body Repair (or equivalent experience)
- Relevant industry experience preferred
- Current driver’s licence preferred
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements
