PV Legal is seeking a capable and motivated full-time Paralegal to join our growing Brisbane CBD practice.

This is an opportunity for a paralegal who has practical legal experience including conveyancing experience and wants to develop a broader legal career. Conveyancing will form part of the role, but it will not define it.

You will also work across matters involving other practice areas including wills and estate administration, commercial and corporate law, property, trusts, taxation, superannuation, wealth advisory and charities and not-for-profits.

Experience in wills and estates or another practice area will be highly regarded, but it is not essential. We are prepared to train and mentor the right person.

What matters most is that you have a sound legal foundation, take responsibility for your work, enjoy collaborating with others and genuinely want to learn.

About PV Legal

PV Legal is a Brisbane-based generalist law firm providing practical, strategic and results-focused legal solutions.

We are a friendly and team-oriented team. We value professional integrity, clear communication, careful work and practical problem-solving. We encourage questions, share knowledge and support one another.

This is not a role in which you will be left to work out unfamiliar matters alone. You will receive guidance and feedback while being encouraged to build confidence, exercise judgment and take greater ownership as your capability develops.

What You Will Do

Your responsibilities will include

- assisting solicitors with a broad range of legal matters and client work;

- assisting with conveyancing transactions, including searches, correspondence, settlement figures, key dates and settlement requirements;

- assisting with wills, estate planning and deceased estate administration matters;

- preparing first drafts of letters, agreements, forms and other legal documents;

- assisting with commercial, corporate, property, trust, taxation and other general legal matters;

- communicating professionally with clients, agents,

banks, brokers, other solicitors and relevant authorities;

- conducting legal and factual research;

- maintaining accurate and well-organised electronic matter files and document records;

- managing correspondence, appointments, documents and matter deadlines;

- proactively following up outstanding information and helping progress matters to completion; and
- contributing positively to a collegiate, responsive and cooperative team.

The role offers genuine variety and meaningful involvement in client matters. As your skills and confidence grow, you will be encouraged to take on greater responsibility with appropriate support.

What Success Looks Like

Within your first six months, you should be confidently supporting team members, managing critical dates and follow-ups, preparing accurate first drafts, communicating professionally with clients and beginning to contribute across the firm’s other practice areas.

About You

You will have

- at least two years’ experience as a paralegal, legal assistant, law clerk or conveyancing paralegal;

- practical experience assisting with conveyancing matters;

- strong written and verbal communication skills;

- excellent organisation, attention to detail and deadline management;

- the confidence to communicate with clients and progress tasks proactively;

- initiative, sound judgment and a willingness to follow matters through;

- a collaborative approach and a genuine willingness to support colleagues;

- an interest in learning new areas of law and receiving constructive feedback;

- proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and general office systems; and
- full working rights in Australia.

A diploma, degree or other relevant legal qualification will be favourably regarded. However, demonstrated practical experience, aptitude and attitude are more important than holding a particular qualification.

Highly Regarded, but Not Essential

Experience in any of the following areas will be an advantage:

- wills, estate planning or deceased estate administration;

- commercial or corporate matters;

- commercial property or leasing;

- trusts or taxation matters;

- PEXA and electronic settlements;

- LEAP legal practice management software;

- online property searches and registrations; or
- a generalist or multidisciplinary legal practice.

Applicants are not expected to have experience in every area. We are looking for someone with strong foundations and the capacity and enthusiasm to broaden their skills.

Why Join PV Legal?

At PV Legal, you will have access to:

- varied and interesting work across several areas of law;

- direct mentoring from an experienced Principal with +30 years experience;

- practical training and opportunities to develop new legal skills;

- meaningful client and matter involvement rather than a purely administrative role;

- a clear opportunity to develop greater autonomy and responsibility;

- a friendly, inclusive and collegiate team environment;

- hybrid working flexibility following successful induction and subject to the requirements of the role;

- reasonable flexibility around working hours where operationally possible;

- an approved professional-development allowance for relevant legal training and courses;

- a formal salary and career-development review after six months and annually thereafter;

- a modern Brisbane CBD office close to public transport, cafés and other amenities; and
- a competitive salary reflecting your experience, capability and contribution.
