THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking an experienced Licensed Venue & Events Specialist to oversee the operation of our licensed Club as a venue and event space at Sydney Swans HQ. This role is responsible for delivering exceptional experiences for members, corporate partners, guests, and venue hire clients, while ensuring compliance with liquor licensing, RSA requirements, and workplace safety standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintain the Club's Licensed Manager / Approved Manager accreditation and ensure compliance with all liquor licensing requirements.
- Lead bar and hospitality operations across match days, member events, corporate functions, and venue hire activities.
- Manage event staffing, including rostering, supervision, and RSA compliance of bar and event personnel.
- Oversee beverage stock control, ordering, and cost management.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and maintain licensing, training, and incident records.
- Ensure high standards of venue presentation, service delivery, and guest experience.
- Support the planning and delivery of Club events, sponsor functions, and commercial activations.
- Foster a positive, professional team culture and provide leadership during events.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Current NSW Licensed / Approved Manager accreditation, or the ability to obtain it immediately
- Demonstrated experience managing licensed venues, bars, or hospitality and entertainment settings
- Strong understanding of NSW liquor licensing laws, RSA obligations, and venue compliance requirements
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills
- Availability to work weekends, evenings, and late nights in line with the Club's event calendar
- Current RSA certification is mandatory; First Aid certification is highly regarded
