We are looking for a Lead Structural Engineer to join our Engineering Team. Reporting to the Civil/Structural Discipline Engineering Manager you will be required to work across a continuous succession of projects as they progress through the project lifecycle from early concept development, detailed design, construction and commissioning.
This role will be based at our Osborne Park head office until August/September 2026 when we will relocate to our new Head Office on St Georges Tce, Perth. Adjacent to the train station, the City office has state of the art end of journey facilities, including secure storage for bicycles and scooters, a gym, tennis court, basketball hoop and a swimming pool available for all Primero employees
Your Key Responsibilities
- Deliver structural engineering design solutions for mining, mineral processing and resource sector projects.
- Lead structural engineering and design teams on small to medium sized projects.
- Undertake structural engineering design on projects.
- Ensure structural designs comply with applicable legislation, standards, client, third party, and project requirements.
- Ensure structural designs are delivered in accordance with the project budget and schedule.
- Ensure designs are fit for purpose and consider all aspects including, cost, constructability, operability and maintainability.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering and design teams to achieve integrated project outcomes.
- Engage with clients, vendors and stakeholders to resolve technical issues and support project execution.
- Assist with studies and tenders.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and designers.
What You ‘Can Do’
- Bachelor of Civil Engineering (recognised by IEAust).
- 10+ years’ structural engineering experience in the design of steel and concrete structures for the mining/mineral processing sectors.
- Proven leadership of structural engineering and design teams on small to medium sized projects.
- Knowledge and practical application of design theories, principles and practices.
- Thorough knowledge and practical application of relevant industry standards and codes of practice.
- Proven experience with structural engineering software packages such as Space Gass and Strand7 is essential.
- Ability to rapidly understand and assimilate project and client specific requirements.
- Proven experience with development of technical engineering documents, drawings, schedules, and models.
- A team player with the ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplined project teams.
- Site experience during construction is advantageous.
- Demonstrated planning and organisation skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Commitment to continued professional development.
- Strong work ethic.
