We have an exciting opportunity available for a Pathways Coach to join our growing Pathways Team within our Football Department on a full-time basis. The role is fixed term, with employment initially offered until 31st December 2027, with the potential to extend.

About the Role:

MVFC is committed to developing the next generation of football talent both on and off the field. We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Pathways Coach to join our Football Department.

As a Pathways Coach, you will be instrumental in guiding and mentoring young players as they progress through our youth system. You will plan, deliver, evaluate, and lead youth football programs that align with both football and education pathways at the Club. These programs may include Melbourne Victory’s Performance School, School of Football, Pre-Academy Centre, and Football Centre programs.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design and implement comprehensive training programs to develop players’ technical, tactical, physical, and mental skills.
- Provide individual feedback and coaching to support each player’s progression.
- Collaborate with the broader coaching and performance team to ensure a cohesive, player-focused approach.




- Identify and support promising young talent to progress within our football and education pathways.
- Monitor player progress and adapt training plans to meet individual needs.
- Foster a positive and high-performance culture that inspires and motivates young players.

What We’re Looking For:

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:

- Extensive experience in youth football development, preferably in a professional academy setting.
- A proven track record of nurturing young players and helping them progress to the next level.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with players, parents, and the broader Club community.
- The ability to design and deliver engaging, age-appropriate training sessions.
- A deep understanding of the technical, tactical, physical, and psychological aspects of player development.
- Relevant coaching qualifications and licences.
- Valid Working with Children’s Check and an understanding of child safe principles.
- A genuine passion for player development and alignment with Melbourne Victory’s values and vision.
