The Role
As a Patient Transport Officer, you will play a vital role in providing secure, compassionate, and professional non-emergency patient transport services. Working alongside a clinician, you will transport patients between healthcare facilities and private residences while ensuring their comfort, dignity, and wellbeing throughout every journey within Kealba, Carrum Downs and Wangaratta.
This role includes, but is not limited to:
· Providing safe and efficient non-emergency patient transport
· Assisting patients with mobility, transfers, and stretcher operations
· Monitoring patient wellbeing and reporting any changes in condition to the treating clinician
· Maintaining ambulance vehicles, equipment, and clinical supplies
· Communicating effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and control staff
· Completing accurate patient care records and transport documentation
· Adhering to infection prevention, safety,
and clinical standards at all times
About You
· Strong commitment to patient care, safety, and professionalism
· Experience in patient transport, healthcare, or pre-hospital care
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
· Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends, public holidays, and overtime as required
· Confidence driving emergency or commercial vehicles in metropolitan and regional areas
· Ability to maintain accurate and timely documentation
Mandatory Compliance
· Certificate 3 in NEPT, Diploma in Emergency Healthcare
· 3 x COVID-19 vaccinations and annual influenza vaccination
· Category A immunisations (MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, TB screening, Pertussis, dTpa)
· Mask Fit Certificate
· Relevant Patient Transport qualifications (or willingness to obtain where applicable)
· Full Australian work rights
· Current Australian Driver Licence with a safe driving record
· Ability to obtain a National Police Check and Working With Children Check (WWCC)
