Project Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Interim Payroll Manager to provide hands-on payroll support for their Australian payroll operations. This is a staff augmentation engagement designed to strengthen the existing payroll team, maintain business continuity, and ensure accurate, compliant payroll processing during a period of increased workload. Key Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end payroll processing using ADP Payforce for the Australian payroll.
Ensure payroll is processed accurately, on time, and in compliance with Australian payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation, awards, and statutory requirements.
Perform payroll calculations, validations, reconciliations, and post-payroll reporting.
Resolve payroll discrepancies and investigate payroll-related issues in a timely manner.
Respond to employee payroll enquiries and provide day-to-day payroll support.
Maintain employee payroll records and ensure data integrity within ADP Payforce.
Partner with HR, Finance, and internal stakeholders to support payroll operations and resolve payroll-related matters.
Assist with month-end and year-end payroll activities, including statutory reporting where required.
Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls, and operational efficiency.
Document payroll procedures and support knowledge transfer within the payroll team.
Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and audit requirements.
Required
Experience
Significant experience processing and managing Australian payroll.
Strong hands-on expertise with ADP Payforce (required).
Thorough understanding of Australian payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation, awards, and compliance requirements.
Proven experience managing payroll in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.
Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal stakeholders.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience documenting payroll processes and supporting operational best practices.

Qualifications
Experience working within large enterprise organisations.
Exposure to complex or multi-entity payroll environments.
Previous experience providing interim or staff augmentation payroll support.
Payroll leadership or supervisory experience.
