An prospect has become available for an experienced Payroll Manager to join a well-established and growing financial services group. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys true end-to-end payroll and is looking for long-term career progression. You'll initially take ownership of payroll across multiple smaller entities before gradually transitioning into a broader payroll portfolio of approximately 500 employees. Working closely with our Senior Payroll Manager, you'll receive hands-on mentoring and support as you prepare to step into the role ahead of their planned retirement next year. This is a hands-on individual contributor role with a clear succession pathway into our broader Payroll Manager responsibilities. What you'll be doing
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing across multiple legal entities.
- Work closely with our outsourced payroll provider (Employment Hero)
to ensure accurate and timely payroll delivery.
- Manage payroll-related GRC incidents, including ticket resolution, compliance reporting and risk mitigation.
- Prepare payroll tax and Fringe Advantages Tax (FBT) reporting.
- Partner with HR Operations on employee lifecycle activities, including onboarding and employee data changes.
- Provide payroll journals and banking files to Finance following each payroll cycle.
- Maintain exceptional payroll accuracy while identifying opportunities to improve processes and controls.
- Build the capability to act as deputy to the Senior Payroll Manager before transitioning into the broader payroll portfolio.
What you'll bring
- 7-10+ years'
experience managing end-to-end payroll, ideally within financial services or another highly regulated environment.
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with payroll data.
- Excellent attention to detail with a strong sense of ownership, accountability and integrity.
- The ability to work independently while building strong relationships across HR, Finance and external providers.
Nice to have
- Experience with Oracle HCM and/or Employment Hero.
- Experience supporting payroll through a system implementation, merger, acquisition or business integration.
