Role Description This is a part-time remote role for a Payroll Specialist.
The Payroll
Specialist will process regular and off-cycle payrolls, ensuring accurate and timely payments to employees in compliance with applicable regulations. Daily tasks include maintaining payroll records, updating employee data, calculating wages, deductions, and benefits, and coordinating with finance and HR to resolve discrepancies. The role also involves managing tax withholdings, garnishments, and reporting, as well as responding to employee payroll inquiries in a clear and professional manner.
The Payroll
Specialist will contribute to continuous improvement of payroll procedures and support audits or reconciliations as needed.
Qualifications
Strong skills in Payroll Administration and Payroll Processing to ensure accurate and timely pay cycles.
Experience with Payroll Taxes and Payroll Services, including compliance with federal, state,
and local regulations.
Knowledge of Garnishments and related legal requirements, with the ability to handle sensitive information responsibly.
Proficiency with payroll software and spreadsheets; comfort working in remote, technology-driven environments.
Attention to detail, strong numerical abilities, and effective organizational skills.
Explicit written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and supporting employee inquiries.
Prior experience in payroll or accounting; relevant certification or coursework in finance, accounting, or HR is beneficial.
Ability to work independently, manage part-time hours effectively, and maintain confidentiality at all times.
