Shaping Spaces. Shaping Careers.

With more than 36 years of experience, SHAPE is a leading ASX-listed national fit-out and construction services specialist. As we continue to grow, we are supporting our recently acquired businesses and their teams while building consistent, scalable People & Culture frameworks across our organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to provide practical People & Culture and employment compliance support, introduce fit-for-purpose processes, and strengthen people management capability without losing existing individual culture and operating styles.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for a pragmatic and people-focused People & Culture professional to provide hands-on support to SHAPE’s acquired businesses. You will work with leaders and managers across the employee lifecycle, helping to introduce practical, fit-for-purpose people processes that strengthen capability, support employment compliance and enhance the employee experience.

Reporting directly to the Executive General Manager - People, Brand and Communications, you will help embed consistent Group requirements while recognising and respecting each business’s individual culture and operating style. This is a varied generalist role, suited to someone who enjoys balancing operational delivery, process improvement and trusted advice.

Key responsibilities include

- Coordinating end-to-end recruitment, including advertising, candidate screening, interviews, reference checks, employment contracts and pre-employment requirements.
- Delivering a positive pre-boarding, onboarding and induction experience, ensuring new employees are effectively integrated into the business.
- Being the first point of contact for managers, providing advice on people management, recruitment, training,

development, performance improvement, workplace relations and culture initiatives.
- Supporting broader People & Culture initiatives that build leadership capability, strengthen culture and create a positive employee experience.
- Developing and maintaining People & Culture templates, tools, policies and resources to support compliant and consistent practices.
- Maintaining accurate employee records, people data, organisation charts and workforce reporting, including headcount, recruitment, turnover, leave and employee relations trends.
- Tracking key employment and compliance milestones, such as probation reviews, contract expiries, licences and training requirements.
- Working with relevant People & Culture specialists on matters such as award coverage, classifications, employment arrangements and working hours, and escalating complex employee relations matters as appropriate.
- Assist in conducting HR due diligence on prospective business acquisitions, including reviewing employment contracts, industrial instruments, and workforce risks.

- Flexibility to work from home, with a requirement to work from our amazing CBD office at least 3 days a week.

About you

- Tertiary qualified in Human Resources and/or Business combined with over 2 years' experience in a similar role.
- Experience within the construction or property industry is preferred.
- Thorough understanding of HR Principles and current Workplace Relations legislation including the application of Awards and EBA’s.
