About the Role:

Due to the growth of the business, we are looking for an experienced Performance Engineer to responsible for driving operational performance improvement across the company’s renewable energy portfolio, including wind, solar and future battery assets.

The successful candidate will be highly analytical, self-motivated and capable of independently identifying underperformance issues through data analysis, coordinating investigations with O&M; contractors and internal stakeholders, and driving actions through to closure.

Your duties will include but not limited to:

Performance Improvement & Issue Resolution

- Proactively identify asset performance gaps and initiate investigations into underperformance, production losses, curtailment, availability issues and operational anomalies.

- Translate analytical findings into transparent actions, recommendations and continuous improvement opportunities.

- Coordinate with O&M; contractors, OEMs and internal stakeholders to ensure issues are investigated, corrective actions are progressed, and pending items are closed in a timely manner.

Data Engineering & Digital Solutions





- Develop and maintain data engineering solutions that support asset performance monitoring, operational reporting and business decision-making.

- Design, build and maintain data pipelines, semantic models and reporting solutions using Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, SQL and related technologies.

- Support integration of operational data sources, including SCADA, meteorological, market, financial and maintenance management systems.

- Prepare and maintain product specifications, business requirements, data models, technical documentation and operating procedures for digital products and analytics solutions.

Asset Performance Analysis & Reporting

- Analyse operational, market, financial, SCADA and maintenance data to identify asset underperformance and improvement opportunities across wind, solar and future battery assets.

- Develop, enhance and maintain dashboards, KPIs, analytical tools and performance monitoring solutions.

- Support monthly, quarterly and annual performance reporting to management, shareholders and the broader business.

Product Development & Continuous Improvement

- Rapidly prototype digital solutions, obtain stakeholder feedback and improve products and processes through iterative development.

- Contribute to process automation, data quality improvement and operational decision-making capability.

- Contribute to asset management processes, performance standards, KPI definitions and best-practice reporting frameworks.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

- Communicate progress, findings, concepts and outcomes clearly to internal teams, management, O&M; contractors and other stakeholders.

- Present analysis, insights and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences across the broader business.

Governance, Standards & Team Contribution

- Support data governance, data quality management and documentation standards across operational systems and analytics products.

- Contribute to Performance Engineering team KPIs, including operational reporting, asset performance analysis, action tracking and digital transformation deliverables.

Who we are looking for:

- Degree in Engineering, Data Engineering, Data Analytics, Computer Science,



Information Systems or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience.

- Demonstrated experience in renewable energy, power generation, utilities, industrial operations or other asset-intensive environments.

- Strong understanding of wind and solar farm operational performance KPIs, including availability, production, production loss, curtailment, performance ratio, capacity factor, reliability and downtime metrics.

- Experience with Databricks or Power BI, SQL and modern cloud-based data platforms is essential.

- Experience building and maintaining data pipelines, data models, ETL/ELT processes, semantic models and enterprise reporting platforms.

- Strong analytical capability, root-cause investigation skills and ability to translate data analysis into practical performance improvement actions.

- Ability to document product specifications, business requirements, technical designs, data definitions and standard operating procedures.

- Self-initiating mindset with the ability to independently identify business problems, underperformance issues and improvement opportunities.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical concepts, progress updates and outcomes to broader business audiences.

- Ability to work collaboratively with O&M; contractors, OEMs, Asset Management, Operations, Technology and Finance teams.

- Experience with SCADA, operational technology data, historian systems or industrial data environments is highly desirable.

- Experience with SAP, Fiix or similar computerised maintenance management systems is preferred.

- Knowledge of the Australian National Electricity Market and renewable energy operations is desirable.

- Experience in electricity market analysis is preferred, including AEMO price analysis, bidding, curtailment and dispatch analysis, and evaluation of weather impacts on renewable energy generation and market outcomes.

- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining clear issue tracking and follow-up discipline.
