ASCO's core business is providing materials management and logistics services to the Oil & Gas industry.
A new and exciting opportunity exists for a dynamic, highly motivated, experienced Logistics Lead based in Darwin. The Logistics Lead is responsible for coordinating and overseeing daily logistics activities, both locally and interstate, to ensure the safe, efficient, and accurate movement, storage, and distribution of client materials.
What your role at ASCO will look like:
- Lead and coordinate daily logistics and transport activities to ensure operational requirements are achieved safely and efficiently.
- Coordinate the receipt, storage, handling and dispatch of materials, equipment and freight.
- Ensure all material movements are accurately recorded within company systems and documentation requirements are maintained.
- Plan and prioritise workloads to meet operational deadlines and customer requirements.Coordinate transport activities, including freight scheduling, load planning and delivery requirements.
- Ensure compliance with Chain of Responsibility (CoR) obligations and relevant transport legislation.
- Ensure compliance with Fatigue Management regulations
- Ensure compliance with all applicable customs, quarantine, dangerous goods and transport regulations relating to the movement of materials, equipment and cargo
- Liaise with clients, suppliers,
transport providers and internal stakeholders regarding operational requirements and service delivery.
- Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures and legislative requirements.
- Conduct workplace inspections, safety observations and participate in incident investigations where required.
- Ensure equipment, plant and facilities are maintained in a secure and serviceable condition.
- Manage operational issues and customer enquiries in a professional and timely manner.
- Act as the first point of escalation for day-to-day operational matters.
- Ensure compliance with client-specific requirements, contractual obligations and industry standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, efficiency, service delivery and cost effectiveness.
- Maintain working knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Dangerous Goods requirements and hazardous substance management to ensure the safe storage, handling and transportation of materials across operational activities.
- Maintain awareness of client-specific import/export requirements and industry regulations applicable to offshore and oil and gas logistics operations.
- Maintain compliance with WHS, biosecurity and regulatory requirements
What you can bring to ASCO:
- Understanding of Australian customs,
quarantine and biosecurity requirements (ABF/DAFF)
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety legislation and requirements
- Working knowledge of Dangerous Goods and Hazardous Substances management, including Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and inventory/warehouse management systems
- Industry experience in Oil and Gas, mining, renewables and/or 3PL logistics
- Ability to manage competing priorities and allocate resource effectively
- Ability to work within a team environment, as well as unsupervised
- Knowledge of transport, Chain of Responsibility and materials management operations
- Excellent organisational and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to prepare and manage import/export documentation accurately
- Ability to understand and respond to customer requirements in a timely and professional manner
