Ipswich Girls’ Grammar School including Ipswich Junior Grammar School offers high quality, non‑denominational education to students from Kindy to Year 12 (co‑education from Kindy to Year 6, girls only Years 7-12). Established in 1892, the School is one of eight original Grammar Schools in Queensland. THE ROLE

Ipswich Junior Grammar School is committed to creating a rich, challenging and nurturing learning setting – one that sparks curiosity and supports our students to grow as confident, capable future leaders. As our Junior School continues to evolve and expand, we are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Teacher to join our vibrant learning community on a fixed term basis from September 2026 – December 2027 to replace a staff member while on parental leave.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Deliver teaching and learning programs within the frameworks in place in the School
- Monitor, evaluate and report on student progress within the relevant curriculum area
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress and assessment
- Track and monitor student achievement
- Use data analysis to inform classroom strategies for student improvement
- Foster a supportive classroom climate which enhances student growth and confidence
- Attend parent teacher meetings, staff and department meetings and other scheduled meetings as required
- Pastoral and academic care of students
- Participate in grounds’ supervision on a regular rostered basis





ABOUT YOU

You are a high performing and dynamic teacher with relevant experience and qualifications in teaching and learning in a Prep to Year 6 education setting. You’ll bring:

- Superior knowledge and understanding of the Australian Curriculum to effectively plan and implement unit plans
- Ability to utilise a wide range of pedagogical approaches
- Ability to plan, prepare and explicitly teach lessons aligned to unit plans, to meet the specific needs of students
- Ability to design and develop programs to cater to the needs of students
- Ability to instil in students the school values and expectations, and love of learning utilising the school’s pastoral care framework
- Registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) and unrestricted working rights in Australia

All candidates must hold entitlement to work in Australia and be registered with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT).
