About the role

Reporting to the Senior Metallurgist, the Plant Metallurgist will be responsible for the monitoring and optimisation of metallurgical processes and/or practices and directs operational control parameters required to attain optimum gold production from the various ore sources.

This role is a permanent opportunity, based on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster, FIFO from Perth.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

- Consult with and support metallurgy and operations teams to ensure process plant is operating efficiently and effectively to meet production targets
- Ensure collection and reporting of plant data is maintained through quality systems and data entry is completed as per requirements
- Supervise laboratory operations ensuring adequate quality practices are maintained and accurate reporting of assay data
- Organise ore test work programs,



ensuring results and reviews are documented and shared through formal reporting – direction from management
- Regularly review plant performance against plan and investigate and report on variation to production targets - daily
- Monitor reagent consumption rates and liaise with suppliers to ensure the plant is adequately supplied, look for economic savings through process control and design improvements – daily
- Operate the metallurgical accounting system, ensure daily, weekly and monthly data entries completed accurately and on time
- Assist Senior Metallurgist with compilation of monthly processing forecast schedule to best align with budget, communicate forecast targets with operations and maintenance teams
- Assist Senior Metallurgist with collation of data required for processing department budget
- Complete monthly physicals and financial reporting as required, comment on variation to budget/forecast

About you We are seeking applications from Plant Metallurgist who have:

- Degree in Metallurgy/Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
- Current WA manual driver’s licence
- Ability to lead and mentor a team of lab technicians and operators
- High level computer skills including software such as Pronto, spreadsheets and databases.
