There is an exciting opportunity with the Rural Maintenance team for a Plant Operator - Dozer. This position is responsible for delivering a high standard of construction and maintenance of Shire roads. Whilst this position is predominantly Plant Operator - Dozer, the successful applicant will need to undertake operation of other plant and perform other duties as directed.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Undertake plant operator duties as directed (predominantly dozer operations) but including roller, loader, backhoe etc.
- Perform work under limited supervision either individually or in a team workplace.
- Monitor, maintain and construct council infrastructure and roads as required.
- Maintain appropriate documentation as directed by the Foreman Rural Materials Sourcing & Contractor.
- Maintain all associated plant & equipment relevant to position in compliance with operational practice.
- Provide supervision and on the job training to other staff as required in liaison with the Foreman Rural Materials Sourcing & Contractor.
- Undertake other duties as required.
This is a full time position, working 99 hours per week. About you In order to succeed and thrive in this position, you must have:
- ‘HR’ class license.
- Minimum three years continuous and competent experience operating dozer.
- Ability to perform routine mechanical maintenance on vehicular plant.
- Demonstrated experience and skills in road construction / maintenance or earthmoving environment.
- Ability to be able to work in a team environment.
- Time management and organisational skills.
- Sound knowledge of Occupational Safety & Health requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to work with limited supervision.
- Physical fitness to undertake the inherent requirements of the job.
- Ability and willingness to work in remote camp locations and stay overnight as required.
- White Card – Construction Safety Awareness Training.
Benefits Salary: $118,743.67 per annum including overtime
