Your new company A rare opportunity has arisen to join a nationally significant transport infrastructure programme that will shape the future of Australia's rail network. Working within a government-backed organisation responsible for delivering one of the country's most ambitious rail initiatives, you will play a critical leadership role during the development phase of a complex, multi-billion-dollar programme.
Your new role As Rail Technical Manager, you will provide technical leadership across a major rail infrastructure project, overseeing the delivery and performance of engineering and design advisory services while ensuring technical outputs align with programme objectives. Working closely with senior stakeholders, delivery partners and technical specialists, you will lead the review and assurance of multidisciplinary engineering packages across track, stations, power, signalling, rolling stock and systems integration.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing engineering and technical advisory contracts to ensure delivery against milestones and programme objectives
- Leading technical assurance activities across major rail systems and infrastructure assets
- Coordinating multidisciplinary engineering inputs throughout project development
- Providing technical leadership across systems engineering, safety assurance and risk management activities
- Driving integration across planning, commercial, environmental and operational work streams
- Managing relationships with consultants, contractors, regulators and government stakeholders
- Supporting innovation,
technical excellence and continuous improvement across project delivery
- Contributing to strategic programme decisions, technical governance and executive reporting
What you'll need to succeed
- Degree qualifications in Engineering along with Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or equivalent
- Extensive experience delivering major rail infrastructure projects within either client-side, consultancy or contractor environments
- Strong technical knowledge across rail systems including track, stations, rolling stock, signalling and systems integration
- Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams and large consultancy contracts
- Experience working within complex project development environments, including ECI, alliance or collaborative delivery models
- Robust understanding of systems engineering, safety assurance and risk management principles
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence senior executives, government agencies and delivery partners
- Australian Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance
