An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Nurse Unit Manager – Operating Theatres to join a respected private healthcare provider on the Sunshine Coast. This leadership role offers the chance to oversee a busy perioperative service while enjoying an excellent work-life balance, with Monday to Friday operating hours and no routine weekend work.

About the Role

As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will provide operational and clinical leadership across the operating theatres, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care while supporting and developing your multidisciplinary team.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Providing strong clinical and operational leadership across the perioperative department.
- Leading, mentoring and supporting nursing staff to achieve exceptional patient outcomes.
- Managing workforce planning, staff rosters and performance reviews.
- Driving quality improvement initiatives, accreditation compliance and evidence-based practice.
- Developing and reviewing clinical policies and procedures.
- Promoting a positive culture of safety, risk management and continuous improvement.
- Building strong working relationships with surgeons, anaesthetists, clinical stakeholders and industry representatives.




- Supporting organisational change and contributing to ongoing service development.

About You To be successful, you will bring:

- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
- Postgraduate qualifications in Nursing and/or Management (or equivalent tertiary qualification).
- A minimum of five years’ experience in a senior nursing leadership or management role.
- Previous leadership experience within perioperative services.
- Robust organisational, leadership and decision-making skills.
- Experience managing staff performance, workforce planning and rostering.
- Demonstrated experience in quality improvement, accreditation and clinical governance.
- Knowledge of contemporary clinical practice and evidence-based care.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A proactive leadership style with a genuine passion for developing people and delivering outstanding patient care.
