Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in leading engineering compliance and promoting a safety culture across site, whilst being supported and gaining valuable experience as you work toward obtaining your certificate of proficiency and practicing certificate as a mechanical engineer at a coal mine.

About The Role

- Developing, reviewing and approving standards, specifications and procedures
- Verifying compliance of new installations and equipment modifications
- Conducting inspections, audits and assurance activities
- Delivering risk assessments and hazard reviews and implement and verify controls
- Driving incident investigations and corrective actions
- Maintaining statutory documentation and records




- Liaising with regulators and external auditors
- Providing engineering technical advice to support operations, maintenance and project teams.

Roster and Location

- Monday to Friday skilled roster
- Based on site at HVO (off Lemington Road)

About You

- An advanced diploma, associate degree or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
- Experience in open-cut and/or CHPP maintenance, or other mining or heavy industry maintenance
- A proven record of delivering positive outcomes and demonstrate a strong systems focus and strategic approach
- Well-developed communication skills and the ability to engage with and influence stakeholders across the business
